The Jacksonville, FL plant fabricated five special structural “T” trusses for this project, among other steel supplied. The trusses were erected by Cutting Edge Erections for Trinity Fabricators. One of the “T” trusses, 120 feet long by 18 feet deep and delivered in two sections, was spliced and bolted on site due to its size.

The top and bottom chords of the “T” trusses were formed by splitting a beam down the center of its web and then joining them with diagonals strengthened by stem extension plates connected with full penetration welds. The Tees also required full-penetration welds at the splices.
