| Technyx Names Empire Iron Works its Customer of the Quarter |

(BOUCHERVILLE, QC) – Technyx, a business unit of Canam Group, has named Empire Iron Works its customer of the quarter for the second quarter of 2008 in the scope of its client recognition program.
Based in Winnipeg, Canada, Empire Iron Works began using Technyx’s outsourcing services in January 2007. From the very start, Empire became actively involved in building a solid business relationship with its Romanian team based on communication and feedback. “Empire Iron Works demonstrates a great openness to the comments and suggestions made by its technical resource team in order to identify solutions to the various challenges encountered. Communication is excellent and Empire does everything necessary to adequately train their detailing team,” explained Jean Thibodeau, president of Technyx.
The Empire Iron Works technical resource team in Brasov, which is composed of six detailers, has completed over 18 detailing projects in partnership with Empire since early last year. One of these projects was the Art Gallery of Alberta, located in Edmonton, that took first place in the Sports/Public Assembly category of the 2008 Tekla North American Model Competition. The gallery underwent an 85,000-sq. ft. expansion in order to provide additional floor space for exhibitions and the Education Centre as well as add a restaurant, gallery shop and a 150-seat theatre.
The Technyx Client Recognition Program, which was implemented in 2008, underlines and highlights the successful relationship that Technyx enjoys with external business partners that employ the technical outsourcing services offered at its offices in Brasov, Romania.
Founded in 1958, Empire Iron Works designs, fabricates and erects structural steel, miscellaneous metals and plate work. The company, which went public in 2005, employs 750 people and operates five plants across Canada with a combined fabrication area of 300,000 sq. ft.
Technyx markets outsourcing services in the engineering and industrial drafting sectors from its offices in St. Georges and Boucherville (Canada), Brasov (Romania) and Kolkata (India).
Canam Group is an industrial company operating 12 plants specialized in the design and fabrication of construction products and solutions. The company employs close to 3,000 people in Canada, the United States, Romania and India, and has partnerships with companies in Mexico, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and China.
