Technyx has named Manac, a semitrailer manufacturer based in Saint-Georges, QC, its customer of the quarter for the fourth quarter of 2008 in the scope of its client recognition program. This program underlines and highlights the successful relationship that Technyx enjoys with external business partners who employ the technical outsourcing services offered at its offices in Brasov, Romania.

“Manac gave us a mandate to produce 3-D models of semitrailers destined for the Russian market,” explained Jean Thibodeau, President of Technyx. “These digital models will be used to design trailers that will soon be launched from a new plant in Russia with which Manac has formed a partnership.” The Romanian team, which is composed of two industrial detailers specialized in mechanical engineering, has been serving the semitrailer manufacturer’s needs since February 2003. “This team supervised the digital conversion from 2-D to 3-D models using Solid Edge software. In doing so, Technyx has become the first detailing firm to use this modeling tool to draft parts and subassemblies for Manac semitrailers,” continued Mr. Thibodeau.

Founded in 1966, Manac is the largest semitrailer manufacturer in Canada and the seventh largest in North America. Manac operates four plants, which are located in Saint-Georges and Trois-Rivières, in the province of Quebec (Canada), and in Oran and Kennett, in the state of Missouri (United States). Manac was a division of Canam Group until 2004.
